Alejandra Salazar
Alejandra Salazar led the World Padel Tour's women's division in titles won in three separate seasons — 2016, 2021, and 2022 — a spread of dominant years across nearly a full decade that few other players in the women's game have matched. Partnered with Gemma Triay starting in 2021, Salazar was crowned world number one for a second time that year, their first as a pairing, and the two held the top ranking together for three consecutive periods before being dethroned in 2023. Salazar's career has also included multiple World Championship titles representing Spain, sustaining elite-level competitiveness across nearly two decades in a sport whose infrastructure and prize money grew substantially over the course of her career. Her combination of leading the tour in titles across three separate seasons spanning almost a decade and her multiple stints at world number one has made Salazar one of the most enduringly decorated players in women's padel history.
VS
Juan Lebrón
Juan Lebrón became the first Spaniard ever to reach the World Padel Tour's world number one ranking, first achieving it in 2019 alongside partner Paquito Navarro, and he has held the top spot continuously in partnership with Alejandro Galán for four years running since. Lebrón and Galán won 32 World Padel Tour titles together across four seasons, and after the sport's top circuit rebranded as Premier Padel, the pair added seven Premier Padel titles, including four in the 2022 season alone. His forceful, net-attacking smashes brought a more explosively athletic style to a sport traditionally built around tactical positioning and defensive rallies, a shift widely credited with broadening padel's appeal beyond its traditional Spanish and Argentine base during the 2020s. His combination of becoming the first Spanish world number one and his 32-title partnership with Galán has made Lebrón one of the most significant players driving padel's rapid global commercial growth.
