Kamil Stoch
Kamil Stoch won four Olympic gold medals in ski jumping across the 2014 and 2018 Winter Games, including individual double golds at both Sochi and Pyeongchang, establishing himself as the dominant men's ski jumper of the 2010s. His technical precision on the large hill format, where margins for error are especially unforgiving given the greater distances and speeds involved, distinguished him from rivals who were often more consistent on the normal hill but less commanding on the sport's biggest jumps. Stoch's back-to-back individual Olympic titles at consecutive Games, a genuinely rare achievement in ski jumping given the sport's year-to-year competitive volatility tied to wind conditions and equipment regulations, cemented his status as Poland's greatest ski jumper. His combination of four Olympic gold medals and his back-to-back individual title defense has made Stoch one of the most dominant ski jumpers of the modern professional era.
VS
Sara Takanashi
Sara Takanashi has won more individual World Cup ski jumping events than any other jumper in history, male or female, establishing a level of sustained week-to-week dominance across more than a decade of competition that few athletes in any winter sport have matched. Her technical consistency, particularly in the demanding normal hill format, made her the standard-bearer for the sport since women's ski jumping was added to the Olympic program in 2014, even though her own Olympic medal collection understated her overall competitive dominance for years. Takanashi's sustained excellence helped legitimize and grow women's ski jumping internationally during a period when the discipline was still fighting for the same recognition and competition opportunities long available to men's ski jumping. Her combination of an all-time record World Cup win total and her foundational role establishing women's ski jumping's competitive legitimacy has made Takanashi widely regarded as the greatest female ski jumper in the sport's history.
