Paola Longoria
Paola Longoria has won six women's singles World Championships — in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2021, 2022, and 2024, most recently defeating Gabriela Martínez 11-5 in the San Antonio final — the most of any woman in the sport's history according to Guinness World Records. She also won four World Championship doubles titles partnered with Samantha Salas, in 2021 becoming the most decorated doubles pairing in the sport, and first won a Pan American Championship in 2006, the start of a run that made her the first Mexican woman ever to reach world number one. Longoria has now held that world number one ranking for well over a decade, sustaining her dominance across multiple generations of rising competitors from Mexico, the United States, and Latin America more broadly. Her combination of a record six singles World Championships and four doubles titles with Samantha Salas has made Longoria almost universally regarded as the greatest women's racquetball player in the sport's history.
VS
Rocky Carson
Rocky Carson holds the record for the most International Racquetball Federation World Championship singles titles with five — won in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016 — plus records for National Indoor singles titles (7) and National Doubles titles (10). He added 27 IRT tour titles across his career and finished as the tour's year-end number one twice, in 2007-08 and again a decade later in 2017-18, a gap that reflected his unusually sustained relevance against Kane Waselenchuk's prime-era dominance. Carson ranked in the IRT's top 10 for a record 23 consecutive seasons, a level of sustained top-tier competitiveness across changing eras of the professional game that few racquetball players have approached. His combination of a record five World Championship singles titles and his record 23 seasons ranked in the tour's top 10 has made Carson one of the most significant American racquetball players of the modern professional era.
