Rosie MacLennan
Rosie MacLennan won Olympic gold in trampoline at both the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Games, becoming the only Canadian athlete in any sport to win individual gold medals at consecutive Summer Olympics and establishing herself as trampoline's dominant women's competitor of the 2010s. Her back-to-back Olympic titles came against an increasingly deep and competitive international field, as trampoline gymnastics' global talent pool grew significantly stronger between the 2012 and 2016 Games, making her title defense a genuinely harder achievement than her first gold alone suggested. MacLennan's role as Canada's flag bearer at the 2016 Rio closing ceremony reflected the broader national significance her achievements carried, elevating trampoline gymnastics' public profile in Canada well beyond the sport's typically limited mainstream visibility between Olympic cycles. Her combination of back-to-back individual Olympic gold medals and her broader role elevating the sport's Canadian profile has made MacLennan widely regarded as the greatest women's trampoline gymnast in Olympic history.
VS
Uladzislau Hancharou
Uladzislau Hancharou won Olympic gold in men's trampoline at the 2016 Rio Games, giving Belarus one of its most significant individual Olympic achievements and establishing himself as one of the sport's dominant competitors during the mid-2010s. His technical execution under the pressure of Rio's finals, overcoming a strong and deep competitive field including reigning champion Dong Dong, reflected the same combination of explosive height and precise aerial control that defines trampoline gymnastics' highest level of competition. Hancharou's continued competitiveness across subsequent Olympic cycles, adding further medals at later Games, reflected sustained excellence rather than a single peak performance, reinforcing his status among the sport's most consistently competitive athletes of his generation. His combination of his 2016 Olympic gold and his sustained multi-Games competitiveness has made Hancharou one of the most significant men's trampoline gymnasts of the sport's modern era.
