TailGate Brewery
TailGate Brewery was founded in 2013, building its identity around a casual, family-friendly taproom model and a lineup leaning heavily on fruited and dessert-inspired beers designed to appeal to a broader, less beer-connoisseur-focused crowd than many of its more experimentally minded Nashville contemporaries. The brewery expanded to multiple Nashville-area locations relatively quickly, along with additional taprooms elsewhere in Tennessee, building a small regional footprint around a consistent, approachable brand identity rather than concentrating entirely on a single flagship location. Its Watermelon Ale and other fruit-forward releases became reliably popular entry points for drinkers newer to craft beer, giving TailGate a specific role in Nashville's scene as an accessible on-ramp rather than a destination for hardcore style enthusiasts. For a Nashville breweries list, TailGate is the essential "approachable, family-friendly" entry — a multi-location taproom built around fruit-forward beers designed to welcome drinkers newer to craft beer rather than chase connoisseur trends.
VS
Fat Bottom Brewing
Fat Bottom Brewing was founded in 2012, building an early identity around vintage pin-up-style branding and label art that gave it a distinctive visual presence on Nashville shelves during a period when the local craft beer market was still relatively small and undifferentiated. The brewery's move to a larger production facility and taproom at Nashville Yards, closer to the heart of downtown's rapidly developing entertainment district, positioned Fat Bottom to capture more of the tourist and convention foot traffic driving much of downtown Nashville's economic growth. Its core lineup, spanning approachable pale ales to richer seasonal releases, was built more around broad drinkability than the extreme-styles specialization pursued by several of its East Nashville-based, more experimentally minded contemporaries. For a Nashville breweries list, Fat Bottom is the essential "downtown-facing, broadly approachable" entry — a brewery whose distinctive pin-up branding and move into Nashville Yards positioned it to capture the city's fast-growing downtown foot traffic.
