  1. 1
    Paul McBeth

Paul McBeth won four consecutive PDGA World Championships from 2012 to 2015, then added two more in 2019 and 2022 for six career titles overall, and across that entire 2012-2022 span he never once finished outside the top two at Worlds — a streak of sustained podium-level consistency without real parallel in the sport. At the end of 2018, he signed with Discraft in what was reported at the time as the largest sponsorship deal in disc golf history, a contract that reflected both his individual standing and the sport's own rapidly growing commercial stakes. His sixth World Championship, won in 2022, came after a stretch where his usual dominance had briefly wavered, making it a genuine redemption story within the sport rather than simply another expected title for the player long considered its benchmark. His combination of a record six World Championship titles and his unmatched decade-long streak of top-two Worlds finishes has made McBeth almost universally regarded as the greatest disc golfer of all time.

    Ken Climo

Ken Climo, nicknamed "the Champ," won nine consecutive PDGA World Championships from 1990 to 1998, a streak of complete Open Division dominance that remains unmatched in the sport's history, before finally losing at Worlds in 1999 to Ron Russell. He came back to win three more titles later in his career — in 2000, 2002, and 2006 — for 12 World Championships overall, still the all-time record and four more than any other player has managed. Climo built that record during disc golf's considerably smaller, less commercially developed early era, giving him an outsized influence on the sport's competitive technique and culture at a time when today's larger professional tour and course infrastructure didn't yet exist. His combination of an unmatched nine-year consecutive championship streak and his all-time record 12 World titles has made Climo widely regarded as disc golf's first great champion and one of its most historically significant figures.

    Paige Pierce

Paige Pierce has won five PDGA World Championships — in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019 — tying her with Elaine King and Juliana Korver for the most World titles by a woman in the sport's history, a record recognized by Guinness World Records. Beyond her World Championships, Pierce has won 17 total Major titles, the most of any female disc golfer, sustaining that dominance across more than a decade of competition against a women's field that grew considerably deeper during her career. Pierce has been candid in interviews about the unglamorous reality behind her results, including living out of a van for roughly ten months a year during much of her competitive prime to support her tournament schedule, a detail her hometown Dallas newspaper specifically highlighted alongside her championship record. Her combination of a record-tying five World Championships and her sport-leading 17 Major titles has made Pierce widely regarded as the greatest women's disc golfer in the sport's history.

    Simon Lizotte

Simon Lizotte set a flying disc distance world record of 863.5 feet on October 25, 2014, at the Fall Desert Wind Open in Primm, Nevada, throwing a 157-gram Innova Blizzard Boss on an anhyzer line with a 17 mph tailwind. He broke his own record less than two years later at the High Desert Distance Challenge, throwing 903.9 feet with a 30 mph tailwind — the first throw ever recorded past 900 feet — before eventually pushing his personal best to 1,030 feet, though Australia's David Wiggins Jr. surpassed Lizotte's 900-foot mark just two days after it was set. Born in Bremen, Germany, Lizotte became one of the most prominent non-American competitors in a sport still heavily concentrated around U.S.-based courses and tour infrastructure, helping raise disc golf's international visibility during its 2010s and 2020s growth period. His combination of setting and repeatedly breaking his own world distance record and his role as one of disc golf's most prominent international players has made Lizotte one of the sport's most technically influential competitors.

    Ricky Wysocki

Ricky Wysocki, nicknamed "Sockibomb," won back-to-back PDGA World Championships in 2016 and 2017, part of a career that's also produced six Major titles — a combined résumé that ranks him among the sport's most accomplished players, well behind only Ken Climo's all-time record. On January 4, 2022, Wysocki signed a four-year, $4 million contract with Dynamic Discs, a deal that paid a $1 million base salary with the potential to reach $2 million depending on sales of his signature discs — a level of sponsorship money that would have been unimaginable in disc golf's earlier competitive eras. Wysocki and Dynamic Discs mutually parted ways at the end of the 2024 season, and in 2025 he signed with Discraft's Elite Team, a second major sponsorship shift that underscored just how much the sport's commercial stakes had grown since he turned professional as PDGA Rookie of the Year. His combination of back-to-back World Championships and his historic $4 million Dynamic Discs contract has made Wysocki one of the defining commercial and competitive figures of disc golf's modern professional era.

    Catrina Allen

Catrina Allen turned professional in 2011, immediately winning PDGA Female Rookie of the Year, then took Female Player of the Year honors three years running from 2012 to 2014 before winning her first PDGA World Championship in 2014 and a second in 2021. Across her career she's accumulated 124 professional wins, seven PDGA Major titles, and 21 Elite Series victories, and she ranked among the top four women in the world every year from 2012 through 2019. Her rivalry with Paige Pierce defined much of women's disc golf through the 2010s, with the two players trading Major titles and World Championship contention across numerous seasons during that stretch. Her combination of 124 career professional wins and two PDGA World Championships eight years apart has made Allen one of the most consistently competitive figures in women's disc golf history.
